Hayat, a boat captain, has been sailing the Arctic Ocean for several years, accustomed to its vastness, harshness and silence. On the other side of the globe, in the South of France, her sister Leïla is about to give birth alone to a baby girl.
In the face of this happy and overwhelming event, Hayat slowly opens up about a tormented family and personal past. Guided by the North Star, she and Leïla will venture towards a new horizon, where hope and love will supplant suffering.
