PHILIPPE PASQUA, L'ART DE LA RAISON

Every year, millions of tons of waste end up in the oceans. By 2050, they could contain more plastic than fish... To denounce the impact of this ecological disaster and to raise awareness, French artist Philippe Pasqua has created an exhibition of gigantic proportions: "Borderline".

A self-taught artist of international renown, Pasqua has created a powerful, disturbing and protean body of work, reminiscent of Rodin or Bacon. For him, art is above all a formidable vehicle for conveying messages. In 2017, he embarked on the design of a monumental exhibition to be hosted by Monaco's Oceanographic Museum. Comprising magnificent, monstrous bronze sculptures, "Borderline" questions our relationship with nature, and calls for the protection of our oceans.

From the beginnings to the inauguration of the exhibition, via the search for patrons, this documentary follows in detail the creative process of an artist who puts his gesture at the service of the environmental cause.
