IN BED WITH MICHEL GONDRY

Night falls on Los Angeles and Michel Gondry tosses and turns in his bed, unable to sleep. An insomniac for 50 years, the filmmaker has turned his sleepless nights into the ideal playground for his boundless creativity.

From The Science of Sleep to Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, via his film Mood Indigo (based on Boris Vian’s Froth on the Daydream), the director has made dreams a recurring theme - if not the key - to his cinema. This film takes us on a dreamlike journey that reveals an intimate portrait of a unique artist.

Blending interviews, animations and slightly disillusioned attempts to find sleep, In Bed with Michel Gondry is the story of a sleepless night filmed at the filmmaker’s home, in Los Angeles. Over the course of his insomnia, he shares the secrets of his singular creative process.
