Writing your first name with sticks, studying the names of plants, learning colors from flowers, improving motor skills by climbing trees, but most of all discovering the riches of nature to better protect it in the future: That’s the promise of the alternative kindergarten, L’École Buissonnière.
Located in the heart of the Ile de Ré (on France’s Atlantic coast), this unusual school recently opened its doors to children from the age of 2. It is one of twenty “forest school” to be set up in France in 2022, a sign of a true green revolution in education.
