Misunderstood and unpopular, chased away by farmers that took over their territory, brown hyenas had to found refuge far from humans, in the remote regions of southern Africa.
Only 8,000 of them now remain in the wild. On the fringes of Namibia, along the Skeleton Coast, these shy scavengers face a formidable challenge: adapt or perish. Like other hyenas before him, a young male in search of new territory is about to find this out firsthand.
Taking us deep into these breathtaking landscapes, this documentary invites us to discover a rare and unfairly judged species, endowed with remarkable powers of adaptation.
