Miss-represented: Italian woman through History

For eight decades, the Miss Italy national beauty contest broadcast on Italian television has been a serious matter: high ratings, controversies, career plans, fashion evolutions - and above all, a picture of women in a society full of contradictions.

Thanks to filmed archives, this film looks back at the many contests featuring young beauties on the country's stages and their role in entertainment programs on television. As a contemporary look at a society in full mutation, it tell us a fascinating societal history of modern Italy.
