Christian is a dairy farmer who lives on his farm in Eastern France. Following the death of his father in 2021, he finds himself alone to manage 68 hectares of land and a herd of 70 cows.
The task is laborious. Still refusing welfare benefits and resisting to modern agricultural standards in favor of old-fashioned methods and know-how, the breeder soon finds himself under pressure, and his business in jeopardy. All the more as Christian has yet to find a buyer… Will he be able to save his farm?
Through the seasons, we follow Christian’s day-to-day, sharing his joys and sorrows. Beyond the portrait of this gruff but tender-hearted farmer, the director pays homage to an ancient world, now in decline: that of French peasantry.
