Fontainebleau: The Palace of the Centuries

With well over a thousand rooms, corridors, frescoes, sculptures and sparkling with gilt, stretching over a vast park... The Chateau de Fontainebleau is an architectural masterpiece spanning 8 centuries of history.

Home to kings and emperors, from the 12th century to Napoleon III’s reign, this priceless timeline of heritage was the site of countless historical events. Almost destroyed during the French revolution, it represents more history and art than any other royal residence in Europe. Yet, its incredible historical, artistic and political wealth remains unexplored.

Thanks to a skillful blend of dramatic reenactments, 3D reconstructions, specials effects and through the eyes of Charles Percier - a young French architect who sketched every room during the French revolution - this docudrama brings this palace back to life, as it evolves with the whims of its royal residents. A tableau of passion, pride, love and war to discover a hidden side of history.
