Iconic landmarks

Known for their architectural beauty, historical importance or political role, some monuments have become landmarks and attract thousands of tourists every year.

What is their history? How did they come into being? And how have they evolved over time?

From the Musée d'Orsay, which has gone from being a condemned station to the emblem of the capital, to the pharaonic building sites of the Hôtel de Crillon, and the architectural feat that is Fontainebleau, this series tells the history of these incredible buildings, alongside those who have contributed to their fame.
