Eiffel: Towers' war 52' & 90' 4K by Savin Yeatman-Eiffel & Mathieu Schwartz

The Eiffel Tower could have never been built. It owes its existence to the determination of a visionary engineer - Gustave Eiffel - who was able to prevail over his main rival, the architect Jules Bourdais. Their duel went far beyond a simple design competition;  it was the beginning of radical transformation where iron was pitted against stone, engineering against architecture, and modern design against ancients,  while the challenge throughout the world was to see who could erect a thousand-foot tower first.

By revisiting this "War of the Towers », this film will explore a major turning point in history, and the career of Gustave Eiffel more than a century after his death.
