SOUNDS OF WARSAW

Since the 18th century, Warsaw’s Palace on the Isle, summer residence of the last king of Poland, has been a haven dedicated to arts and music, a jewel preserved from the turmoil of Polish history.

Nestled in the vast Łazienki Park, the Palace on the Isle was gradually joined by architecturally rich outbuildings scattered throughout the natural landscape - the Orangery, the Royal Theater, guest pavilions such as the Belweder, the Myślewicki Palace, and an Amphitheater. Music, architecture and landscape intertwine to recount the story of this memory-laden site that keeps the Polish spirit alive. Today, the estate continues to vibrate to the rhythm of music and art through numerous cultural events.

As we explore this majestic monument, guided by pianist Alain Planès’ in situ interpretations of Chopin and melodies bearing the imprint of centuries, this film unveils a unique place of memory and brings to life - through sound and image - the cultural heritage it embodies.
