Inside Nature's Eyes

We have long believed we were the only living creatures to see in colour. We now know that animal vision is just as complex as our own, or even more complex! Some animals can zoom in on details to catch their prey, others can see in the dark, or detect predators located behind them: there are as many different ways of perceiving the world as there are species! Depending on what they need to survive, animals can see things that humans are blind to.

Today, thanks to advances in science and miniaturisation, we are literally gaining insight into animal vision. By examining their size, number and position, and by measuring their visual field and acuity, we can see the world through their eyes.

How do animals perceive colour, light, texture, or depth? Can we see what they see? This riveting documentary introduces us to the farmers, scientists, doctors and artists who probe a mystery that has always been fascinating mankind.
