On October 7, 2023, Hamas attacked Israel. Within hours, it murdered more than 1,100 people and took nearly 250 hostages. These terrorist attacks plunged Israel into an unprecedented crisis and thrust the Middle East into a new, bloody chapter of its history - one that continues to shake our societies and reshape global geopolitics.
On the front lines of the Hamas attack was a group of young female soldiers: the tatzpitaniyot, or "lookouts" in Hebrew, stationed at the Nahal Oz military base. These young women were the first to warn of the impending attack, and they were also among the first victims of October 7.
Fifteen of them were killed, and seven were taken hostage. Through the testimony of the last surviving lookouts, their families, and Israeli intelligence experts, this film seeks to understand how this tragedy could have happened. What went wrong? Were their warnings heeded? This is their story...
