The Rise and Fall of Carlos Ghosn

On November 19, 2018, Carlos Ghosn, the world's top boss of the automotive industry, was arrested by the Tokyo Prosecutors' Office while he was getting off his plane, as soon as it landed on the tarmac of Haneda Airport. A few minutes later, the images of his arrest went around the world. It only took a few hours to find out the charges against Carlos Ghosn. His taste for money was his downfall. He hid a significant part of his income and misused Nissan assets - Japan's number two automobile company which he had been managing for the last 19 years.

The man who had been building the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance for nearly 20 years, which by 2018 had become the world's number one automobile company, is said to be a cheater and a thief, according to the file against him. But what are the causes of his greed? How was his ambition born? Who truly knows Carlos Ghosn? Was it his cupidity or his blindness that led him to such a brutal fall? Or both?

From Beirut, where he took refuge after fleeing from Japan and its justice, Carlos Ghosn agreed to look back on his 40-year journey, the long time it took to build a power that was undivided at last. From the brilliant engineer to the fearsome "cost killer", from his childhood to his incarceration in Japan at the end of 2019, this film portrays Renault-Nissan former CEO.
