THE PARIS OF NAPOLEON I

Paris would not be what it is today without the construction of monumental structures commissioned by Napoleon I: the Arc de Triomphe, the Vendôme Column, the Church of La Madeleine, Rue de Rivoli, the Pont des Arts…

Napoleon Bonaparte was the first to envision Paris as we know it today. Beyond the image of a war leader, he was also a builder. Behind his urban projects lay a major political ambition: to consolidate his power by erasing the most visible symbols and traces left by the Ancien Régime and the French Revolution.

Combining 3D imagery, expert interviews, archives, and reconstructions, this documentary propels us into the major works initiated by Napoleon to turn Paris a radiant international capital.
