THE PURSUIT OF KHUFU’S FUNERARY TREASURE

Impressive and majestic, the Great Pyramid of Giza, the only one of the Seven Wonders of the World still standing, has towered over Egypt for centuries. But a mystery remains: this colossal pyramid appears to be empty. Neither Khufu's mummy nor his treasure have ever been found.

Yet these funerary riches accompanied all pharaohs after their death to their new life in the afterlife. So why have so few royal treasures been found, starting with that of the most famous king of ancient Egypt? What surprises still await Egyptologists digging in Egyptian soil?

After researchers claimed to have found an “underground city” 600 meters deep beneath the pyramids of Giza in March 2025, the question arises: could the tomb of Khufu be hidden under his pyramid?

Following the course of the Nile with leading French and international experts, and retracing the steps of the most iconic pharaohs, we set out in search of the treasure of Khufu. We will explore the king's pyramid, its interior, and iconic tombs, with the idea of a hidden treasure in the background, whose contours and location will be discussed with archaeological and editorial rigor.
