2015, the Disaster Diaries

2015 was marked by record floods in Bosnia, a polar storm in the USA, unprecedented forest fires in Australia, a deadly typhoon in Madagascar and the awakening of a volcano that has been dormant for 200 years in Iceland.

We cannot predict what will hit the Earth tomorrow, but we can be certain that each year brings its share of natural disasters that we try - often in vain - to anticipate, understand and prevent.

The images in this film show these apocalyptic moments as they take place, on the ground, in the heart of the action. The 4K cameras, computer-generated images and interviews with scientists allow an authentic immersion, in sound and images, in the midst of disasters.
