In 1066, at the height of his power, William, duke of Normandy, prepares a daring assault on the shores of England. At the heart of this monumental undertaking is his giant flagship, the Mora, an astounding centerpiece of an unprecedented 1,500 ship fleet.
Yet this colossal 40-meter-long drakkar, built in less than three months, has remained a mystery for historians and naval experts. How exactly it was built and what happened to it after the invasion, have been enduring questions for a thousand years.
As we approach the millennium of William the Conqueror's birth in 2027, a team of international, based in Normandy, is attempting to recreate the Mora using the same building techniques, than in the 12th century. Our film will allow to understand the greatest landing in medieval history, and one that would change the destiny of England and Europe forever.
