Snowden’s great escape

On June 10, 2013, the White House gave the order to find Edward Snowden, the most wanted man in the United States. An unprecedented diplomatic offensive is launched to capture and punish "the traitor".

Yet fifty days later, Snowden emerged from Moscow airport a free man. After all the fuss, the White House must admit defeat. How could the world's largest military security machine fail in this manhunt?

This documentary tells the story of this pursuit, of all the maneuvers put in place by the American government to get Snowden. A modern-day version of David and Goliath, it tells how a small group seized immense power, alone against the world, and won. The film centers on the period of exile and asylum-seeking experienced by Edward Snowden and his Wikileaks "protective angel" Sarah Harrison, in Hong Kong and Moscow, from June 23 to August 1, 2013.
