A provocative musician and singer, Betty Davis blazed a trail through the soul-funk scene of the 70s.

She wrote for the biggest stars, then went her own way, before mysteriously disappearing. For the first time in thirty-five years, Betty Davis emerges from her silence.

This documentary retraces her meteoric journey, that of a free woman and magnetic artist, a pioneer of the Afro-American cultural revolution and the embodiment of "Black is beautiful".
