Fur seals, the dark side

Far from the tents and amusement parks, in the great icy ocean that surrounds Antarctica, the fur seal shows another face.

Halfway between a tale and an investigation, the film follows the destiny of a young male who has chosen an isolated volcanic island in the fury of the South Seas as his refuge. The self-taught man learns to hunt and fight, to be opportunistic, to share the experience of great strategists such as dark dolphins, and to avoid the murderous jaws of killer whales.

Shot over 6 years off the coast of Patagonia, this film offers a new approach to natural history.
