TEENAGE LOCKDOWN TALES

France, March 16, 2020. In response to the Covid-19 epidemic, president Emmanuel Macron announces a lockdown. School gates are closed and students placed under house arrest until further notice. Eva, Julien, Eve, Grégory and Nawel find their lives turned upside down.

For 54 days, these five teenagers will spend most of their time between the four walls of their bedroom, far from schoolyards, teachers and friends. Directors Marie-Pierre Jaury and Charlotte Ballet-Baz invite them to document their existence during this uncertain period. Between long-distant classes and bored afternoons, they record their thoughts on their phones, film snippets of their everyday lives, confess their dreams and fears…

Like a video diary - in which vertical format rubs shoulders with horizontal -, this choral documentary takes us into the intimacy of these five teenagers who, as time stands still, question themselves, reveal themselves and learn to grow.
