The meeting in Paris in 1876 of Alfred Nobel, a wealthy Swedish arms dealer and inventor of dynamite, and Bertha von Suttner, an Austrian aristocrat and fervent pacifist, marked the beginning of a friendship that was as surprising as it was lasting in a Europe in full industrial revolution and threatened by war.
From the 20 years of their correspondence, the Nobel Peace Prize will be born.
Blending animation, letters exchanged, evocative scenes, exclusive archives and specialists’ interventions, this film recounts these two exceptional European destinies where faith in science, the thirst for success, and the mad hope of a world in lasting peace intersect.
