Synopsis

Welcome to the country of Cannabusiness: these days, over 60% of Americans live in a State where cannabis is legal, either on prescription or simply off the shelf. Now legalised in 8 States, marijuana has abandoned the underground world of smuggling, dealers and cartels to flourish in broad daylight. The United States is rapidly becoming the world’s largest market for this famous substance. Investors are rushing to be part of this new business, a powerful lobby is being set up, and no other market place in the world is developing as rapidly.

Marijuana has become the star product of a new generation of entrepreneurs who see themselves as the pioneers of the 21st century, ready to go to great lengths to develop their business, for the sake of individual liberty and dollars. But how has this plant gone from being an illegal drug to being a medical solution?

Through a journey from West to East, this documentary looks at the green gold boom and takes us deep into the heart of an investigation on US soil that combines capitalism and alternative farming. A surprising voyage where we’ll discover the most profitable agro-business in the world.
