Cambridge, sounds of King's College

King’s College Chapel in Cambridge, built in the middle of the 15th century, is one of the town's most emblematic monuments. From the very beginning, the King's College was dedicated to education, but also music: its founder, King Henri VI of England, wished for celestial harmonies to be heard within its walls.

For five centuries, King’s College has been living and vibrating to the tempo of music, demonstrating the diversity of English musical heritage, with great concerts and works by Orlando Gibbons, Thomas Adès, John Dowland, Henry Purcell, and Benjamin Britten.

Cambridge, sounds of King's College portrays the particular spirit of the place, proposing a selection of these works and looking back at the history of this jewel of British Gothic architecture.
